Birmingham’s newest bar and restaurant is set to open in Summer 2020 in the heart of the city - The Pineapple Club Cocktail Bar & Beer Boutique!
The Pineapple Club - on Colmore Row (at the former site of The Victorian Restaurant). The venue is the latest from the award-winning team behind The Vanguard.
The Pineapple Club will be a new offering from the company promising a very different experience. Samuel Boulton, Managing Director said “We really love what we have put together at The Vanguard. We’ve won so many awards and reignited a forgotten drink (Mead) but for some time we realised our dreams have outgrown our existing space, so a much needed upgrade was in order”.
The focus of The Pineapple Club has been on pushing boundaries and challenging norms, using our team of experts to make every aspect as good as it can be. “There are a number of great venues in the city but too often even the best have not offered everything consumers want under one roof. We have brought these attributes together in our own way, alongside some unique offerings that cannot be found elsewhere in the city” said Samuel.
Upstairs will be home to a bold art deco inspired bar and restaurant, the brainchild of award-winning interior designer Maisie Violet Ree’s. Serving 80 , the offering will include an exciting range of cocktails carefully created by the award-winning team, a Brunch and small plate menu crafted and delivered by Santi Plazas (ex sous chef of El Boracho Tapas), 200 Degree’s coffee and locally made pastries supporting Birmingham’s thriving Business District, as well as the more usual drinks be that beers, wine, or mead!
The ground floor will be home to a dedicated shop focusing on unique craft alcohol, not normally found on the high street. The impressive range will include the best Craft Beer, Ale, Mead and specialty spirits. The shop will open from 10am each day, staffed by the team’s trained experts who will be on hand to answer questions.
The exciting range of cocktails served, will rotate every 6 months focused around a different concept. The opening menu has a “Pop Culture Icon” theme with drinks harnessing icons such as Star Wars, Studio Ghibli, Mortal Combat and even Rick & Morty! There is something for everyone, we are excited to try the Slurm (Themed after Futurama), a blend of Bombay Sapphire Gin, Original English Mead, Elderflower and botanical cordial garnished with a beautiful blue edible painted glass!
“We decided that a small plate food offering would be most exciting to consumers, supporting the social aspect of dining while allowing flexibility to try new dishes. Unusually we decided to offer a mix of cuisines so we could offer the best dishes out there, regardless of where they are from – no-one ever said you could only serve one thing, it has just become an industry norm! ” said Samuel. The opening menu will include a selection of Spanish, Italian and Columbian cuisine feeding from Santi’s culinary history and heritage. The brunch menu will be served from 10am before moving onto the small plate offering for lunch. There will be special events, such as paella nights , to ensure there is always something new to try.
